Subject to licensing approval, the Centre will:
- Enable partnering hospitals to focus on more complex care by providing a high volume of non-emergency outpatient healthcare services.
- Strengthen Ontario's supply of health human resources by partnering with academic institutions to create educational pathways.
- Reinvest revenue back into serving the community for years to come following a philanthropic non-profit mandate

A groundbreaking, charitable commitment to improving public health
As a charitable non-profit outpatient healthcare facility, with construction and launch funded entirely by philanthropy, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is the largest of its kind in Canada. Opening in late 2025, the facility will add significant capacity to Ontario’s public health system while reducing wait times for everyday medical services.

Laying the foundation for efficient healthcare in Ontario
Started with the purchase of a partially completed building project at 9355 Leslie Street in Richmond Hill in October 2021.
Made possible by two of Canada's most prolific philanthropists.
Built and designed by Ellis Don and Norr in collaboration with medical and operational experts.
Medical programming aligned with expanded licensing under the ICHSC Act in 2023.

Planned healthcare services at launch
With planned opening in late 2025, the Centre will support a wide range of services to meet public need (subject to licensing, accreditation and, in certain cases, hospital collaboration).
Initial planned service areas include the following:
Diagnostic Imaging
MRI, CT, and Standing CT services, as well as a range of common clinical diagnostic services.
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
Diagnostic and treating gastrointestinal endoscopies, with pathology services performed by an outside laboratory partner.
Outpatient Orthopedic Surgeries
Knee and hip replacement surgeries, along with other hospital-supported case types such as foot, ankle, and shoulder repairs.
Clinical Care
High-quality clinical care across a range of disciplines, including general family practice, geriatrics, and common specialties.
