A charitable non-profit solution to a more efficient Ontario healthcare system

Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is being built from the ground up in Richmond Hill, Ontario to reduce surgical and diagnostic backlogs, improve patient outcomes and empower Ontarians to enjoy a better quality of life.
Together with its charitable affiliate, the Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Foundation (which owns and manages the Centre's infrastructure and assets while fundraising to support its operations), the Centre’s mission is to reduce pain, increase mobility and make access to outpatient healthcare more convenient.
The Centre will prioritize providing as many OHIP-covered procedures as possible, enabled by the Integrated Community Health Services Centres Act (2023), to reduce the considerable hospital backlog. While the Centre will also provide procedures not currently covered by OHIP, these non-insured services will not replace OHIP-covered procedures. Rather, they will supplement available publicly-funded services and provide patient choice.
